Having volunteered for Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Carbon Landscape for a year, and becoming a Carbon Landscape Champion, I became one of the 2019 Carbon Landscape Trainees.

I have a back ground in engineering with a degree in Robotic Engineering. I worked for defence contractors for the past 5 years, however this was not my passion and I found the work draining and unfulfilling.  After developing my skills through volunteering I gained my first job in conservation with Lancashire Wildlife Trust Contract Team.

I have always had a love for the outdoors be it surfing in Cornwall; rock climbing in Dartmoor; cycling to Switzerland; or wild camping where ever I can pitch my tent, getting lost in the outdoors is my passion.  From my volunteering experience I gained more job satisfaction than from any prior career, and I am proud to be the latest of the Carbon Landscape Trainees.
